Wolfe Park Arboretum

Description

The Wolfe Park Arboretum is located in and owned by the City of St Louis Park, Minnesota. The arboretum is comprised of a 32-acre park where people recreate and enjoy the outdoors. The park provides multiple opportunities for recreation including but not limited to, playgrounds, sport courts and fishing. it is home to the Rec Center and the Veteran's Memorial Amphitheater which host many events throughout the year. It provides an opportunity for park users to experience nature in an otherwise very urbanized part of the city.

A large part of this is due to the many trees that make up the arboretum. The arboretum is host to over 500 trees comprised of over 40 unique species. Many of the trees located in the arboretum are mature and good representatives of their species. They would like to use this opportunity of accreditation to increase their number of unique species and work on a St Louis Park tree collection. This collection would be a representative example of all the different species of trees located on St Louis Park public property.  At the arboretum they are looking to foster a growing collection of trees while introducing visitors to the wonders that trees have to offer.
