La Constancia de Biocca
La Constancia de Biocca is a developing arboretum located in the city of Mar del Plata, Argentina. Established on the grounds of a historic family estate, its mission is to conserve plant biodiversity, promote environmental education, and strengthen the connection between people and nature. The arboretum is home to more than 300 plant species and over 40 bird species, offering a rich environment for ecological learning and biodiversity appreciation. Through school visits, educational programmes, and volunteer engagement, La Constancia de Biocca aims to become a reference point for science communication, landscape conservation, and community well-being.
This arboretum was founded by Héctor Biocca, who, alongside his children, designed and planted each of the species. His exclusive dedication to each plant guaranteed the successful development and maintenance of the trees. Today, forty-five years later, La Constancia de Biocca boasts colorful parks that strive to become a legacy for humanity.
La Constancia de Biocca offers a unique botanical experience across 33 hectares of gardens, home to approximately 300 forest species originating from Asia, Africa, Oceania, Europe, and the Americas. These trees, aged between 20 and 45 years, are distributed across three carefully designed parks. The landscape reflects the vision and dedication of the founder, whose thoughtful cultivation has shaped this diverse and living collection
