Carol Woods Retirement Community is a not-for-profit Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) that was founded in 1979 in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. It sits on approximately 120 acres of beautiful and diverse land, with an estimated 65% canopy coverage. Upholding a commitment to well-being and inclusivity, Carol Woods provides a safe and healthful environment for the long-term care of its residents. Resident involvement, in tandem with the passionate and valued efforts of the Carol Woods staff body, fosters a unique setting where residents are encouraged to maintain active lifestyles, pursue activities that support individual fulfillment, and advocate for themselves with confidence of being heard. Carol Woods is proud to host 5 individual Oaks that are over 200 years old, dense pine forests, mature hardwood species, specimen trees, and exotic ornamentals.
